Ashleighs Party

I know I said this blog wasnt the Ashleigh one, but.... this was a big deal. Today we celebrate her first birthday.

I would like to start this post by thanking my essential baby parents group, the giddy diddys for making this day very very special. My wonderful friends sent me this:

Containing a wonderful gold chain with a gold heart pendant and also -- a star!! Well the naming of a star. My beautiful friends bought a star and named it Ashleigh Elizabeth.

So, as I mentioned - we celebrated thiss occasion today. I had a few girl friends over with thier kids for a party. I was given a few lovely pressies:

So I opened the pressies and lit the candle and we ate drank and were merry. We had a toast to my beauiful princess and then had the cake...

Once the cake was finished, the kids had made a huge mess eating it too - we headed out the back to release our balloons. We got 12 - for 12 months old and attatched messages for her to each one. Each child got one to release and then Nick and I released one each and one together...

One got stuck in a tree, and we waited and waiting, and finally it was free!

I have to go watch for a star that is meant to be over my house tonight...

Night... and thank you - to everyone who has thought of me and my family over the past week. Myy precious daughter left this earth too soon, but touched many lives....

Birthdays are a time for celebration

Not a time for tears,

But what happens when the birthdays

No longer mark the years?

A birthday marks the moment

An angel enters earthly life

To share her special love and joy

And learn from earthly strife.

Before an angel comes to us,

It knows when and how it must depart

It chose its path carefully,

We are honored from the start.

The sadness we now feel,

on such a joyous day

Is longing for our loved one's touch

It's natural to feel this way.

For even though the birthdays

No longer mark an angels stay

Love continues on forever

To touch us every day,

We hug those precious memories,

Of the day that Ash was born,T

he joy and pride on her families face,

When she entered the world that morn.

So sweet Ashleigh although you can’t be with us,

To share this special day,

We know you are watching over us,

And smiling all the way.

Happy birthday Ashleigh, We miss you.

Hackett; Ashleigh Elizabeth

Celebrating her first birthday with the angels

If tears could build a staircase

and memories a lane

we would walk right up to heaven

and bring you home again

With all our love,

Mummy, Daddy and Boyd

The Wedding

Alicia and Daniel

Well it was, as expected, the wedding of the year. Two of our most wonderful friends "tying the knot"

We had a great day. As usual, Alicia had planned to perfection and even the weather listened. She looked radient in her gown, and the bridesmaids were stunning!

The Boys scrubbed up alright, and the groom acted as if he wasnt at all worried - I hope it wasnt an act!

Th
ought I would share som photos of our great day. The ceremony was held at Rendez
vous and the
reception at the Tea Tree Gully golf club
